The authors, following the content of the texts of M. K. Petrov, offer a methodological basis for understanding modern processes in culture, education, and professional selfdetermination caused by the explosive development of technologies, especially digital ones. The digital generation gap is obvious, but, according to the authors of the article, it does not make the education system fatally redundant if it updates the sociocultural and existential potential of teachers, which also requires scientific and pedagogical reflection on the challenges of the era.
